Take a look:

On John McCain's qualifications to be president:
"This is the kind of character that civilizations from the beginning of history have sought in their leaders. Strength. Courage. Humility. Wisdom. Duty. Honor. It's pretty clear there are two questions we will never have to ask ourselves, 'Who is this man?' and 'Can we trust this man with the presidency?'"

On John McCain's dedication to doing what is right – not what is popular:"He has been to Iraq eight times since 2003. He went seeking truth, not publicity. When he travels abroad, he prefers quietly speaking to the troops amidst the heat and hardship of their daily lives. And the same character that marked John McCain's military career has also marked his political career. This man, John McCain, is not intimidated by what the polls say or by what is politically safe or popular."

On John McCain's commitment to taking real action to reform Washington:
"But while others were talking reform, John McCain led the effort to make reform happen – always pressing, always moving for what he believed was right and necessary to restore the people's faith in their government. Confronting when necessary, reaching across the aisle when possible, John personified why we came to Washington in the first place."

On John McCain's ability to restore integrity to our government:
"My role is to help remind you of the man behind the vision. Because tonight our country is calling to all of us to step up, stand up, and put 'Country First' with John McCain. Tonight we are being called upon to do what is right for our country."

Palin working on foreign policy chops.

Here we go...

Expect a lot more of this in the next several weeks.

UPDATE: A look at her debate in Alaska for Governor. The second is going to look more at the media focus this weekend on the rumors around her daughter and the attacks against her. This is the more important post. It shows exactly why she's qualified to be Vice President. The second is the more emotional, I'm pissed off about the hypocrisy from so-called Feminists, the leftists who have made or trumped up the attacks against a minor. Here is what you need to know about Sarah Palin:

She's Pro-life and lives those beliefs.
She's Pro-2nd amendment.
She's for drilling and energy independence.
She has negotiated a $40 billion dollar pipeline with Canada.
She was a mayor and a governor and has 13 years of elected experience.

The list goes on. Much, much further. Now people are trying to say that Gov. Palin is dangerously inexperienced in the number 2 slot of the Republican ticket. This is a flat out lie. As a governor and especially in a state that produces 20% of America's energy resources, Gov. Palin has a firm record. She has a record as a reformer against corruption forcing the resignation of an Attorney General, the chairman of a corrupt committee overseeing oil in Alaska even resigning her position on the committee to observe the laws in Alaska. Her reputation for honesty and integrity is unmatched by either of the Democratic candidates. Is she new to the national stage? Yes, but so is Obama.

Gov. Palin was tapped in her second year as Governor of Alaska, which is an everyday position making decisions. She helped push through ethics reform laws, posted the state budget online to promote transparency, opposed the Bridge to Nowhere (in fact killing that deal) and finally returned $1200 to each Alaska taxpayer. That's a real record of reform and care for everyday citizens of her state.

What has Barack Obama done in comparison? He's run for President. He says the budget she ran as mayor wasn't nearly as big as his Presidential campaign. But as Governor the budget and the staff she runs of the largest state in the nation with as many challenges in governing the state as any in the nation is many times larger (6-10 times (depending on the report you read) as many people as his national campaign and a multi-billion dollar budget). Her record as an executive in that state shows just how well she has done. Barack Obama has never had any executive experience nor has he held a job longer than his current one in the Senate (where he had 143 business days before he decided to run for President). So during his career as an elected official Obama has never had an every-day job anything like Gov. Palin. In fact in the time before each of the two were running for their respective offices (President/Vice President) Gov. Palin has three times the experience at the highest level achieved to date. Why, therefore is Gov. Palin declared inexperienced in comparison to Obama? There are only two reasons that come to mind: Obama can't be viewed as inexperienced and unready or because Palin is a woman. Women who don't leave their children behind before setting out on their careers simply aren't respected when they are conservative. They are mocked by the left as "not family values." In fact several conversations brought this point up. Why is this so? Shouldn't the Governor accrue the same respect as liberals like Speaker Pelosi, Senator Clinton and other prominent women who have achieved high office regardless of philosophy? But Palin does not receive that respect. Clearly her resume is at least as thick as Senator Obama's and it is an executive, an experience that Obama simply does not have.

I'll be posting more about Palin in the future but feel free to leave your comments below.

Test post.

Test post.
